Our Pick of the Top Tile Trends for 2018

There are a whole host of ways you can use tiles in your home. From walls to floors, fireplaces to kitchen splashbacks, tiles are a great way to add a personal touch to rooms. As 2018 is just around the corner, we’re considering the trends that are set to make an impact next year. Here are a few of our favourite floor tiling trends:

Marble
Marble tiles never seem to fall out of fashion due to the luxurious feel they give to a room. Whilst natural marble can be expensive, there are a variety of marble effect tiles on the market. Monochrome tiles tend to be the most popular as they are very sleek and elegant but it’s always worth shopping around to find the style that best matches your home.

Wood effect tiles
The look of wood is stylish and classy. Real wood floors can be quite difficult to maintain but luckily there are some lovely wood effect tiles available. Wood effect tiles can be arranged in numerous patterns to allow you to achieve a unique look for your home. Reclaimed wood effect tiles are also a great way to add texture and colour to your floor and create a cosy, rustic vibe.

Patchwork tiles
A fantastic way of introducing colour into your home is with patchwork tiles. This Moroccan-esque tiling style allows you to create dramatic features which brighten up any room and instantly transports you to warmer climes. Pair patchwork tiling with underfloor heating and you’ll be able to experience radiant heat similar to the suns warmth.

Hexagon tiling
If you feel like you want to stray away from conventional square and rectangle tiles, look no further than hexagon tiles. This unique shape allows you to create incredible honeycomb effect floors. Choose neutral shades if you want your room to look understated and elegant.

Rug effect tiling
This is where you surround a section of patterned tiles with plain tiles to give the effect that there is a rug on the floor. This is often used to create sections in open plan areas, or it looks particularly good under dining tables or freestanding bath tubs.

The main worry people have when installing tiled floors is that they’ll be cold, with several home owners opting for vinyl instead. Nowadays this needn’t be an issue with the rise in popularity of under floor heating and with the number of systems on the market which are easy to install. That’s why we’ve partnered up with Tilemaster Adhesives to make installing tiles over underfloor heating systems easier than ever. Together we have developed a unique formula will make sure that the floor finish is stable, doesn’t crack and can flex with the movement of the heating system.
